It’s not hard to apply for a British passport, especially now that the government has also implemented the email application procedure, however there are some important things you should also keep in mind before and when applying.
Before you apply:
Bear in mind, that when your application is refused, due to any court processes, suspicion of crime or any other reasons which could legally keep you from leaving the UK, your application fee will not be paid back for you.
You must also send some other documents such as birth certificates when you apply for passport. You must also rea about the role of counter signatory when it comes to first passport application, as without a counter signatory confirming your identity, your application should be either put on hold, until you provide all your documents countersigned the proper way or will be straight up refused.
You should get more information about the exact role and the person of counter signatory. Without countersigning, your documents and application will not be accepted.
You can apply online through the governmental homepage but you can also apply at any British post office.
It’s important to note, that the application process may take up to 2 months these days, therefore everyone is advised not to make any travel bookings before you actually get your passport in your hands.
