Events and Community Fundraising Internship
Children in Crisis is looking for an enthusiastic individual to undertake a 3 month internship within our busy fundraising team. This internship would provide an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to begin a career within fundraising. The successful applicant will gain experience across the fundraising department as well as database training on Raiser's Edge.
The role will primarily involve support to our Events and Community Fundraising Manager on a number of major projects and will include working on the following tasks:
- Management of the sales of Children in Crisis Christmas Cards.
- Supporting the Events and Community Manager with the running of the annual Children in Crisis online auction. This will include research into companies to donate prizes, ‘behind the scenes' management of the website as well as communication with our supporters regarding this event.
- Supporting the Events and Community Fundraiser with the organisation of our Celebrity Carol Concert held in December.
- To help maintain and update the Raisers Edge database which could include inputting enquiries, new contact details, event participation and income monitoring.
This position would suit someone who is flexible, enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing and who enjoys working as part of a busy team.
The following skills and qualities are relevant to this role:
- An interest in events fundraising
- Open and friendly
- Good research and writing skills
- Confident telephone manner and communication skills
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills - competent at word, excel.
- An interest in international development
Due to the nature of the events and projects we have planned, we would require a commitment of regular support of a minimum of 3 days a week for 3 months, starting on Monday 24th September until the Christmas Break.
We will provide help and support in seeking a permanent position in fundraising and travel and lunch expenses will be paid.
