Children in Crisis in DRC

Children in Crisis is improving the quality of primary school education in the remote high plateau region of South Kivu in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

  • Working in partnership with local organisation Eben-Ezer Ministries International Children in Crisis has rebuilt four schools which will provide secure, permanent classrooms for over 800 children to learn in.
  • 400 teachers are being trained in basic teaching methods, lesson planning, peace and health education. The teachers are taught to make lessons more engaging by encouraging the children to participate.
  • Children in Crisis is supporting the production of plays which are performed in churches and other community spaces to promote the importance of girls attending school.
